About Us

Rev. Gordon Lewis and his wife Diane founded Mission of T.E.A.R.S. 1992 incorporating as a charity serving orphan children. The adoption program was the first developed in parallel with our other child care initiatives. Now adoptions have grown globally and Mission of TEARS (Ontario), our adoption agency, was incorporated and has completed hundreds of adoptions from various countries around the world. Today we operate as a non-profit adoption agency incorporated as Mission of TEARS (Ontario) and as a federally registered charitable organization in serving orphan children. Under the co-ordination of our director, Gordon Lewis, we are seeing other programs developed successfully.

Mission of TEARS (Ontario) will assist you in providing our unique milestone process already proven with helping so many others in organizing their adoption success. This process will allow not only for the required milestone s in Canada to be dealt with but also in the overseas country were we submit your dossier documents and manage your Child Proposal when it may come.
Mission of TEARS (Ontario) continues to look at adoption as a humanitarian effort that meets the needs of a child and enhances the lives of a family. From our name comes our mandate: TEACHING, EDUCATING, ADVOCATING, RESOURCING and SERVING (T.E.A.R.S.) We look forward to working with your family in this wonderful endeavor.

Mission of TEARS (Ontario) specializes in Adoptions rather than in particular countries. Programs are developed based on the needs of our diverse and multicultural clientele.
Our experience, coupled with our skill and professionalism has placed the Mission of T.E.A.R.S. on the cutting edge of issues faced by families who chose to build their families through international adoption.

Based on the premise that it is easier to build boys and girls than to mend broken men and women, our programs are geared towards children and families.
We believe in:
• The Uniqueness of the child as a person
• The Family as a unit for nurturing children
• Bringing together children and parents to build a healthy society
• Providing a nurturing environment for a child to grow in
• The empowerment of older institutionalized orphans, widows, poor and oppressed people
